How to use SpriteGrid

Hold a tool's button to see the others it holds:
Pencil and Eraser#
- Shape round or square, Size from 1 to 64 pixels, and Opacity.
- Pixel Perfect removes the doubled corner pixels from freehand lines.
- Color Replace paints only over colors close to the one you start on.
- Hold Shift and click to draw a straight line from the last point. Hold Shift while dragging to keep to a straight line.
- Right-click (or right-drag) paints with the secondary color.
[and]change the size. So does Alt with the mouse wheel.
Spray scatters pixels over an area, with a Width and a Density. Blur, Antialias and Jumble work on what's already there.
Picking colors#
Hold Alt while drawing to pick a color with the eyedropper: click for the primary color, right-click for the secondary. X swaps the two colors, and D resets them to black and white.
Symmetry#
The two buttons at the right of the tool options mirror what you draw across the middle, left to right (Shift+H) and top to bottom (Shift+Y). The menu beside them moves the mirror's center: the document's center, the selection's, or a pivot of your own that you drag into place. Symmetry works with the Pencil, Eraser, Spray, Blur, Antialias and Jumble.
Fills#
- Bucket Fill fills the area you click. Tolerance takes in similar colors, Contiguous fills only what touches, and Sample All Layers looks at every layer, not just this one.
- Contour Fill: draw an outline freehand; it's filled when you let go.
- Polygon Fill: click corners; double-click to fill, Escape to stop.
Shapes#
Rectangle, Ellipse and Line draw outlines, or solid shapes with Filled on. A rectangle can have rounded corners. While dragging:
- Shift makes a square or a circle, or keeps a line to 45° steps.
- Ctrl draws from the center.
- Alt turns the shape.
Gradients#
The Gradient tool draws a gradient along the line you drag: Linear, Radial, Reflected, Diamond or Conical. Edit Gradient... sets its colors and opacity, saves presets, and adds pixel-art Dither: Bayer patterns, lines, crosshatch or noise. Hold Shift to keep the angle to 15° steps.
